Jet City Comics!

Amazing announcement this morning. Alongside comic adaptations of George R.R. Martin and Neal Stephenson works, a WOOL comic is under full development. Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray are writing with Jimmy Broxton illustrating. I’ve seen some character sketches and a script, and I really think you all are going to enjoy this. I’m totally geeking out.

Here’s the coverage from Entertainment Weekly.

And the kick-ass cover:

    Sweet!

  3. Oh shit yeah. Noice.

  4. That’s fantastic! And to be put into comic form alongside George R.R. Martin… it reminds me of that article you wrote here about meeting him at a convention and him not knowing who you were, even though you were sitting at a top spot on Amazon! That story still cracks me up. Congrats Mr. Howey!!! :)

  5. I do not understand why every book in last years must be “translated” in comic, but ok, seems this is the complete way of a good story. The Book, the film, the comic!

    Still look forward to it!

  6. Geeking out. Totally geeking out over this cover.

  7. Love it, love it, love it – but that is not how I picture Juliette AT ALL!!

  8. Congratulations. I must say, though, that I don’t think a comic can do justice to the story. The appeal to me is in the writing. The movie, though, I’m really keen on seeing. I also hope to read the screenplay eventually.

Congratulations. I have seen the adaptation of Game of Thrones comics and have wonderful drawings. Here is hope that your Wool stories have success and here for hoping to see Molly Fyde in comic as well. :)

  10. Looks great. Comics can be a great additional medium these days and will really expand your fan base

  11. so awesome!! congrats!

  12. OMG OMG OMG! Just saw the option to pre-order this on Amazon! Full on nerd rage over here!

  13. Sweet! Only problems I have with this brilliant scheme is that I didn’t exactly picture Juliette that way, (Although, that might be a different person) and that the three-triangle symbol on her coveralls is upside down. :D

  14. Wow! Wow! Wow!

Exciting news. The cover truly ROCKS! Great angles.

  15. This is awesome Hugh!

  16. That’s so exciting! :o I can’t wait for it to come out!

  17. […] The first story accepted into the program was a Silo Saga tale. Oh, and there’s a Wool comic on the way. And the series shows no sign of slowing down – at the time of writing, Dust is […]

  18. What a farce! Would be nice to get the comic without having to pay a premium for it. Dealers flipping their copies on eBay and Amazon at inflated prices rather than the publisher printing enough for all to enjoy and read. Hugh Howley, if you’re reading this, thanks for contributing to this BS. Tried to pre- order issue #2 and all dealers are sold out (and flipping them on eBay at inflated prices). What a joke

    1. I’m just as upset as you are. And Jet City didn’t run the print copies of the individual books; that was a different company. The comic shops didn’t order enough, so they didn’t print enough. It stinks. I had to get a reader to pick up a copy and mail it to me.

I’m not happy with this at all, and seeing if there’s anything to be done about it. :(

  19. That’s not Juliette! Mireille Enos is Juliette!!
