UK Release Day!

I’ve been looking forward to this day for a very long time. Random House UK picked up Wool back in April or May, what has felt a lifetime ago. All of the editorial work, media mentions, pre-release decisions, have led up to this. It’s half past ten in London right now, and copies of Wool are probably sitting out for the first time. I feel an incredible mix of excitement and nerves. This is another step in what has been a lifelong dream and has come to fruition in the most surreal manner possible. Thanks again to all the readers who helped spread the word about these books. It wouldn’t have happened without you!

  1. Congratulations!!! The poster looks great as well! How exciting!

  2. Cheers, Hugh! It will be interesting to see how differently it is received there (and whether it feels different to you) to have the book — I assume this is the Omnibus Wool, including the original 1-5? — put out by a legacy publisher, in print, and supported by an advertising push.

Let us know how it all turns out. How are they pricing it? Are you going over for readings, signings, etc.?

    Luck!

  3. Great news and kudos Hugh,
Man that poster would look great in my basement get-away/mancave LOL

    1. Oh yeah, Hugh, you need to insist they give you one of those posters. Very cool.

  4. I know if I were you walking by and seen that, it would choke me up a little. The reward for doing a great job. Few know how much you deserve the recognition.

    BTW: I want one! :)

  5. My hardback copy is on the way from Amazon UK – can’t wait!!

  6. Wow. How fast they made that happen! Amazing. Pleased as pomegranate punch for you. Thanks for bringing this baby to life. I think the world is a better place because of it. WOOL is a mind opener.

  7. If I wrote Wool Omnibus and then saw that, I would cry like a baby. Congrats Hugh. You are so deserving.

    Rudy…Rudy…Rudy!!!

  8. Does this mean the 1-5 omnibus audiobook will be coming to audible.co.uk sometime soon too? With Minnie Goode’s voice? Patiently waiting :)

  9. Great poster!! Did you come up with that catch phrase? It’s perfect.

    1. It was a contest. David Gatewood came up with the phrase and won a set of Wool proofs for his genius!

  10. I just read Wool after seeing it in the Guardian. Great stuff. Its been a while since a book has had me reading into the early hours of the morning (and i read a lot!). Congratulations on your success with Wool, I cant wait for the next installment.
Right, I’m heading over to enter that Wool art comp.
